Paddle for Her

The first event organized by Junebugs Care was "Paddle for Her" in June 2009. This was a kayaking fundraiser for our dear friend, Adriane, who was in a fight against breast cancer. We held the event at Cheraw State Park on beautiful Lake Juniper. She continues to keep the upper hand in her fight, today. She also won the hearts of over 60 paddlers who took part in this event. We also give credit to Naturally Outdoors for their support and assistance with "Paddle for Her".

Dinner for Josh

Josh had just turned 6-years-old when he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Students and teachers from Florence Christian School really poured out their support for this fundraiser in March 2010. The community support was overwhelming with nearly 800 dinners sold. Hot Wings, Etc. provided a delicious grilled chicken dinner, Chick-fil-A at Southside Commons was also a big help. Our event motto was "Pray for Josh" and the accompanying verse was 1 Samuel 1:27. Glory to God!

We are truly saddened for Kelly, Jeff, and Jake that on March 16, 2013 Josh left us. While we are sad and alone without him here, we can rejoice knowing that Josh met Jesus face to face on that day. Josh will never again experience another moment of pain in that glorious place. Until we meet again, Josh; we love you, Buddy!

Owen was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and we were really humbled to be able to help him and his family. We held the dinner on March 14th 2013 at Church at Sandhurst. The entire community of Florence really poured out for this guy. We served nearly 1500 plates of pancakes and sausage, yep that's about 5,000 or so hot cakes. This could certainly not have been accomplished without the help of our Junebugs support team.
